Prime-minister Wen Jibao assured the president of World Bank, Robert Zoellick, that the Chinese government will continue to apply a dynamic fiscal policy and a relatively lax monetary policy.”We will not change our policy’s line”, assured the prime-minister.
“The policy and the macroeconomic measures adopted by Beijing towards the international financial crisis proved themselves to be prompt, energic, efficient and realistic”, stressed the Chinese leader. The process of economic recovery on a world wide level will still be a slow, difficult and complicated one, in need of a joint effort of all the states which have to pay a special attention to the difficulties of middle-developed countries and to reducing the development gaps between the North and the South. Zoellick is visiting China for the third time since his naming as World Bank’s president.
