Visa: Foreign visitors have to obtain a visa before entering Shanghai. You can apply for the visa in the Consulate of P. R. China in your country. Alternatively, you can obtain the visa through a travel agency. Special fast applications can be generally completed with 24 hours.

Exhibition Time: May 1, 2010~Oct. 31, 2010 Theme: Better City, Better Life Site: The site of Expo 2010 is located between the Nanpu Bridge and Lupu Bridge, in the waterfront area on both sides of the Huangpu River. It covers an area of about 5.28 square kilometers (about 2.04 square miles), of which 3.93 square kilometers (about 1.58square miles) is in Pudong and 1.35 square kilometers (about 0.52 square miles) is in Puxi.

World Expo Parade, one of the key events during Expo’s 184 days in the site, yesterday started its first official tour. With more than 920 performances, this largest and longest parade activity in World Expo history is expected to attract nearly 30 million visitors. Three teams will parade along two routes, one in Pudong area and the other in Puxi area, for a total of five times every day. The parades depict a scene of cultural prosperity, harmony and joy in the ideal future cities.

Papermaking Chinese legend tells that the new invention of paper was presented to the Emperor in the year 105 AD by Cai Lun. Archeological evidence, however, shows that paper was in use two hundred years before then. Either way, the Chinese were significantly ahead of the rest of the world.
